(For Minstrel list and old friends, the poem / tribute may be found
following recent "news from home": Haldane Sparhawk has been
given a Grant of Arms from the Crown of Ansteorra...)

ALMOST enough information, and for the rest I believe I can wait until
I speak directly with the principals involved. (Or one or more of them can
e-mail me privately if they so choose).

(I note for the general edification of the reading populace that Ansteorra
is a bit unusual in the eyes of other SCA kingdoms in that we do grant
the so-called "naked" Grant of Arms from time to time. There are
typically particular reasons why the Grant is made separate from
one of the Grant-bearing Companionships / "Orders" / Court Baronies,
and it is that additional information which leaves me most curious.)

(Hi Estrill, pass my congrats to your loquacious lug, and I'll see y'all
when I get a chance.)

While I've got your attention -- I offer the following for the descendant
of
the _Moon Runes_, under terms of a blanket permission that may just
still be in my personal files. It is a work in progress; I intend to
sing the finished version in person at Guardian next year:

		Rememberance: For The Moonschadeen
(rough draft) Amr ibn Majid al-Bakri al-Amra

Where once there were a few on a windy hill
Now travels a throng of might and of skill
And we owe quite a bit to a man named Will:
	Mooneschadowe, the crying winds call!

Though many are scattered, they remember the call
That echoed from towers on the red plains one fall
And never will we forget old Cordell Hall:
	Mooneschadowe, the crying winds howl!

No trumpet we had but an old huntsman's horn
No triumph we knew, but new legends were born
In apartments of students, we dealt with the scorn:
	Mooneschadowe, the crying winds moan!

From the basements and attics and rooms we came down
From the old college campus and back ways of the town
Students laughed at our antics and our parents did frown:
	Moonschadowe, the crying winds _are_!

And the Dream learnt from Blackfox, Sternwald, Dragonstar
We hammered -- forged -- quenched in red earth of the Star
Did not know very much, but good gods! we've gone far:
Mooneschadowe, crying winds -- NEVER stilled!
