re: recipes

did that combo at a field event last year ... was a *big* hit. for some reason
people like my camp cooking. doing a brisket and jerk chicken for this
weekend ends festivities ...

re: stretching

need to commission a working rack ??? oak or pine framing, hand wrought
iron fittings, hemp ropes or iron chain ... would not be cheap, but a nice
center piece for the play room

re: swine

but *swine* are very period, especially to us early celtic types .... to some
they border on sacred (especially when turning in a spit) ... for a really
good tratement of swine (and other agricultural and social issues) might i
suggest:

_Cattle Lords and Clansmen: The Social Structure of Early Ireland_, Nerys
Patterson, isbn:0-268-00800-0.

this is a *excellent* reference for any earlt period, celtic, or irish reference
shelf. note, it's a serious "academic" read, lot's of good detail ...

re: harley's

as for harley's, if the mongols had them, they would have used them
(reference: _Mozart in Mirrorshades_)
