If you do send your award recommendation directly to Their Royal
Majesties, it's always a good idea to send a copy to your Baron and/or
Baroness, and your group's Seneschal. As diligent as the Crown tries to
be, they cannot know everyone in the Kingdom personally, and may need
more information on a gentle before bestowing an award. Where do they
get this information? Why, from the aforementioned Baron, Baroness or
Seneschal. Don't let them be blind sided when the Crown asks their
opinion of milord John Smith or milady Jane Doe.

If you want to recommend someone for an award but don't have a clue
about the format of the recommendation or how to send it, talk to some
of the people in your group who have been around a while. Chances are
they've written an award recommendation or three themselves, or can
point you to someone who has. Always draw on experience. I haven't met
a Scadian yet who was unwilling to share his or her knowledge. <grin>
