ANST - armor standards

Greetings,

There is a thread on the Rialto over shinai fighting in the SCA and I
was wondering what is Ansteorra's armor standards for shinai fighting in
our kingdom (if we have it.)  I would assume that with the injuries that
can result from certain strikes would one assume that the participants
be required to conform to heavy armor standards?
