ANST - Needle Work Question

I am thinking of taking up embroidery and am looking for a good
refernce or 6.  Any suggestions?

I have done some more modern (US Civil War and Up) designs with ease,
as well as some freestyle.  My persona period is 1480's England, if
that makes a difference..
