Herr Dieterich:

I won't be using my van - that trip killed it last year and I can't 
afford to risk this incarnation on a jaunt that long.  Anyone who wants 
to pool money and get a rental cargo truck is perfectly welcome.  If I 
wind up for some reason carrying only my own stuff, I'm going to get the 
smallest box-body truck available (No pickups - I want something we can 
padlock).  The more people involved, the bigger the truck it would make 
sense to get.

I have managed to misplace the papers on which I had some rate 
information from U-Haul.  I'm pretty sure they're still in the house 
somewhere buried under the empty tubes of fletching glue, and I will 
excavate them soon.  And I will start haunting the vehicle rental joints 
again - one way or another I will post some figures in the next day or 
three, and then we can start figuring what would be most cost-effective.

Is the trebuchet working all right?  I'm still ironing the wrinkles in 
the one I tried.
