***excellent*** link ... exactly what i was looking for (wanted some idea of 
how it's been done before ...)

one of the things i've always loved about the SCA.  if you find some 
interesting "niche" that interests you, there are probably those out there 
already working in that area you can learn from so you usually don't have to re-
create the wheel (unless you really want to do so)
