As I see it the only thing people should be griping about is that their
checks were cashed without getting a cabin. If they're applying the
money towards camping, they should send you a refund check. Or,
preferably, tear-up the check and make you send another for camping,
because without a cabin, you may decide not to go.

As for the people crying about not getting a cabin, get over it!
Shouldn't the royalty get better accomodations? Wouldn't a period
king have better accomodations? Is our king only a person to bow
to and speak praises to, but when it comes to comforts, it's every
man for himself? Chivalry may prompt a king to decide to give up a
cabin spot, but it should not be asked of him. He should not be
threatened that he would not be chivlarous if he stays in a cabin.
Chivalry should prompt you to accept the reasonable accomodations
(camping) the way that thousands of others do.

I don't really understand the arguments about people who "must have"
a cabin. If you're flying in, I can kind of see it. But a tent
needn't be too big to fit on a plane. A small nylon tent can easily
fit into a suitcase and can sleep at least 2. Other than a roof over
head, what's the difference? Never stayed in one, so I really don't
know. Do they have kitchens, stoves, refridgerators?

What do you people do at other events? Most events I know of don't
have cabins. Do you stay in motels? Or do you only daytrip to
close-by events?

If you're so frail that you wont survive the night in a tent, how are
you going to fare on the battlefield? (Hope you're a Trimarian :-) )

It sounds to me as if some people think a cabin is their unalienable
right. This event is getting bigger year after year. Even if royalty
wasn't given automatic spots, the time was coming that cabin space was
going to be very hard to get anyway. What were you all going to do then?

I've camped for the past 5 years and will be camping again this year.
Had some rain, had some cold, some heat, and some perfect weather, but
still enjoyed every year.

So, give up a comfort or two, set up a tent, and let's all concentrate
on fighting a war.
