Here is the note I just got concerning your refunds.

Now let's talk about something else like what banners you all are making to
take with you or what new costumes you all are documenting to make for the
event. :)

Sincerely,
Ches

Subject: Re: complaint

:
:Thank you so much for taking the time to write. Cabin space was
:available to both the public and royalty.
:
:As in years past the Royalty of the Knowne World was given until
:December 15 to procure cabin space for them and their entourage. Once
:we received all these requests we then assigned cabins based on the
:order of receipt of reservations. Each packet that comes in is given a
:reservation number (no matter how many reservations it contains) which
:helps us identify things quickly. What this means is that you could
:receive a relatively low reservation number but still not get cabin
:space because there were several reservations still ahead of you. I
:received 59 reservation packets on the first, which gave us a total of
:276 reservations. Not all of these were for cabins but the majority
:were. There were 120 beds advertised and 108 of them were given to
:groups other than royalty. As you can see with the number of
:reservations there were still going to be many people that could not be
:placed.
:
:As for the subject of refunds:
:
:I thought it would be easier for everyone to receive their refunds at
:the war with their site packet. My assumption being that most would
:change their reservations to tenting (you know what they say about
:assuming...). I will be happy to send refunds before the war to any
:gentle who wants one. My only request is that they either send back
:their postcard included in their pre-war booklet or e-mail me. I do not
:believe it would be good to do this over the phone because it does not
:give us a written record. For the problem of cashing the checks without
:receiving bed space: I believe this is common practice to deposit
:checks as they come in. Had we not deposited them people would have
:probably been calling wondering why we were holding their checks.
:
:Never at anytime did myself or Sir John (autocrat) say that beds were
:not available to the public but only to royalty. I thank you for taking
:the time to find out what really happened and hope that this will help
:set things straight. If I can be of any further assistance or you have
:any other questions please e-mail me back or call at 318-742-4230.
