It was all over the Elfsea-Steppes papers a month or so ago, since most of
the retail stores are serviced from a plant in Ft. Worth. You can also go
to the Tandy webiste and get the announcement there.

It is true, all the USA retail stores are closing, and soon. Tandy will
continue to sell prepackaged kits through arts & crafts stores such as
Michael's, and has decided to focus on the kind of project done by
children's groups such as Little Princesses.

One retailer said that the stores may get very little notice to close, as
little as a month or weeks. So if you have a store nearby, keep an eye on
it;; the sale prices are about 40% but the sales won't last long.

When this first was announced, there were discussions about how some years
back Tandy stopped being quite as useful for the reenactors, hiking prices
on belt blanks and hides, and sending many SCA and other reenactment
persons to other sources for leather. So I wasn't surprised to read about
this.
