Sir Burke, the site is about 5 minutes southwest from the Astrodome (which is
near South Main at Loop 610 South, the "South Loop"), which has several major
hotels adjacent to it. Or, there are a plethora of hotels on US 59 (the
"Southwest Freeway") between Fondren and the Beltway 8 ("Sam Houston Tollway").
There's a decent map to the site in the Black Star, so you can see that either
of these locations are quite close to the site. You can probably call any of
your favorite hotel chains' main numbers and ask for a hotel near the Astrodome,
or in southwest Houston on the Southwest Freeway.
