We really don't mind being called the "wrong thing" by someone being polite
and making a simple mistake. It is easier to acknowledge the words and
meanings of a comment and overlook the mistake of title. In our Court at
Bonwicke last weekend we were referred to as "Your Graces". The gentleman
was corrected by our Herald but we really didn't mind, especially since
"Your Grace" is the proper form of address in our time.

A gentle correction is appropriate so that a person a person may grow but
too many new people are afraid to speak to "important people" because they
are afraid they will make some stupid mistake and get yelled at. I always
try to tell newcomers that as long as they are courteous most muckety-mucks
won't mind being called the wrong name. If they are corrected it is usually
so they can learn more clearly the social graces of our Society.

We looked at the message and were appreciative of the meaning and heartfelt
words of this individual. We were not offended at the "demotion" :-{)}.

As an example, Sara is often referred to as my "Lady Wife". Although we are
not married we have been together for nearly eight years. We ignore the
simple mistake and continue the conversation rather than bring slight
embarassment on the speaker.

We pray the gentle who provided the correction does not feel as if we are
attacking him either, we also appreciate his words. There was courtesy in
both postings and we appreciate them both. For this, both the words of
support and the words of correction and support of our codes we thank you.

Yours,

Gunthar and Sara
