ANST - Crown Tournament

There has been much talk here about who should fight in Crown and how
they should fight and if they should fight and much whining about fairness
of this or that aspect of the tournament.

The fairness of a Crown list is judged by how the fighters conducted
themselves. Did they fight with honor and chivalry? It does not include
who is fought in a given bout only that the bout was fairly fought.

A fair Crown tournament is one where the sitting Crown influenced the
list neither for or against any fighter and was evenhanded in all dealings
with the tournament.

To a fighter that would wear the Sable Crown it should not matter who
their opponents are nor why they enter. That fighter will take on all comers
and win the day. To expect to do have to do less is to lessen the prize.
The Ansteorran Crown is the greatest of prizes and thus it should be that
to win it one must overcome the greatest of challenges.

The fighter that would sit the Sable Thrones should welcome the Dukes
into the list and desire them as opponents for they are the standard bearers
of Crown tournaments past and the standards by which the new Crown will
be judged.
