The Canton of Gate's Edge will be hosting their 9th annual Midsummer Faire to 
find a Champion for the Canton.  To become our champion, the worthy gentle 
must enter five of the following events to qualify as a contestant for 
becoming our champion: Archery, Dance, A&S, Games, Chivalric, Rapier, and 
Bardic.  A worthy gentle does not have to be a fighter in order to become our 
champion.  Also, a gentle may enter as few of the events as they wish.  Rules 
will be explained on site.

The evening's feast will consist of breads with herbed butters, spiced beef 
soup served over noodles, sallat greens with oil and herbed vinegars, herbed 
baked chicken, peas and carrots, and honeyed fruits with sweet cream.  If you 
have special food requirements, please contact the Feastocrat.  Feast is 
limited to 75 persons.  Reservations encouraged.  Contact the Feastocrat for 
reservations.

NOTE:  Midsummer Faire is a one day, non-camping event this year.  If you 
require crash space, please contact the Autocrat.  Merchants welcome, contact 
the Autocrat.  Site fee is $6.00.  Feast fee is $6.00.  Price breaks for 
larger families and children will be posted at the troll.  Make checks 
payable to: SCA, Inc./Canton of Gate's Edge.  Minors must be accompanied by a 
parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21 year or older adult 
with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parents.

Directions:  From US 59 South, take the W. Bellfort exit and head west on W. 
Bellfort.  The site is about a fifth of a mile past Dairy Ashford on the 
left.  From Beltway 8 South, take the Bissonnet exit and head west to Dairy 
Ashford.  Go south on Dairy Ashford to W. Bellfort and turn right.  The site 
will be on the left.  NOTE:  If you are traveling to US 59 South via Beltway 
8 South, the ramp from 8 puts you on 59 past the W. Bellfort exit.  Take the 
W. Airport exit.  Turn right on W. Airport, right on Dairy Ashford and left 
on W. Bellfort.  The site will be on the left.

The event will be at the small building in the back of the parking lot.  
Follow the signs that direct the flow of traffic in the parking lot, please.  

The site opens at 9:00 am and closes at 11:00 pm.

NOTE:  The field contains a sprinkler system.  NO DRIVING on the field and no 
driving of stakes for pavillions within 10 feet of the perimeter of the 
field.  This is a dry site - no alcohol permitted.  Sorry, no pets permitted, 
only service animals will be allowed on site.
