 As any red blooded Englishman knows, "smalls" are your underwear, not
children. Telling people you were looking for your smalls would bring
visions of someone's underwear blowing around the camp site which in my
experience has happened. At the SCA 25 anniversary, I was down wind from
the main camp, one morning I found a pair of red bikini pants and the
next day a pair of belly dancer's pants. No one claimed them.
