My lady, I'm not sure where you heard this from, but I assure you that the
Inquisition would not have been necessary if such a thing could happen.
The Board of Directors is the only entity that can force a Crown to step down.

The Lions of Ansteorra have no precedence, the title conveys no insignia,
yet is it the most honorable and respected of all our awards, with real
prestige that eclipses even that of the king. The Lions have the keeping
of the Great Sword of State, and if the entire Order agreed, conceivably
could ask an erring Crown to return it to their keeping until such time as
a worthier ruler appeared.

This would not have the effect of unseating a ruler. It would have the
effect of intense and lasting public humiliation for the ruler, however.

On the other hand, take a look at the roll of the Lions. There are more
than three members, so I guarantee that they will never be able to
unanimously agree on such a maneuver. Why? Because no matter how stupid,
evil, or whatever a bad Crown might be, they're only there for six months
-- time takes care of all bad kings and queens, and hopefully their
successors will never allow them to participate in a Crown List again. And
almost all of the Lions are our oldest, most respected members, and they
know how the world wags -- they would never unanimously see a need for so
drastic an action as removing the Sword from the ruler's hands.
