Having lived in a couple other Kingdoms besides our fair Ansteorra, (and
agreeing with Galen that he wants to be blissfully ignorant of the Aten
politics *L*), and having been Queen twice, once in Caid, and once in
Atenveldt, experiences which I treasure equally...
I feel that we should not restrict a fighters ability to represent
themselves on the field of combat in regards to a Crown Tournament. As
athletes, a fighter has their peek years, and making limits during that time
might take away something very special.
While I agree that there are some multi-Crowns who into their 5th plus reign
may have become stale, out of touch, and have lost the sight of what their
original dream was, I can only name 2 couples that reached that state of
lethargy in my humble opinion, and I don't feel we should place that burden
of restriction on our future Crowns.
I must say that I think that if a sanction or restriction of a particular
fighter is deemed necessary, then it should be the Kingdom who makes such a
decision, not a blanket regulation by the Board of Directors.
I do have alot of respect for the BOD, having lived in Atenveldt, they came
and were advisors and great listeners during some of the more trying times
there, but I don't think that making the Kingdom's more alike is helpful.
Part of what makes each Kingdom beautiful is it's history, both good and
bad. I feel very much that each Kingdom should have alot of room within the
confines of the "game" to make itself unique. I feel that the rules we add,
the more confused each issue becomes.
