ANST - Wimbledon and Ducal Prerogative

Um, Sir Timo, I'M not the one who introduced Wimbledon and the NCAA basketball tourney to this thread. I was just trying to apply YOUR analogies to the topic being discussed. I did bring up the NBA, and for that, Mea Culpa. (That means "its my fault"). I was grasping for an example of a superior competitor who did not intend to be around for the finals, since, as I said, the 64 team field ALL WANT TO WIN. It was a reach, I admit.

As for Dukes being beaten, yes, I know it happens. But we weren't discussing them, we were talking about the Dukes who enter Crown List, win a few bouts, THEN QUIT.

Does anyone besides me find it interesting that none of the Dukes (surely there are a few on this list) have chosen to comment on the subject of Ducal Prerogative?
Still curious.
