I must have missed the original message or felt I didn't have anything to
offer at that time about the original specific inquiry. But perhaps I
can help you to some resources.

There is a Slavic interest group that I've heard mentioned a number of
times when folks asked about Eastern European and Russian information.
I believe the contact info is given in several of the files in my
Florilegium.

Perhaps some of the sources in these same files might be of use to you.
As time goes on and more people study the Slavic countries and
perhaps with that region of the world opening up more to the West,
more sources are becoming available.

You might check these files in the CULTURES section of my Florilegium:
Armenia-TL-art (28K) 2/24/99 "Medieval Armenia and Cilicia Timeline"
                                       by Keran Roslin.
Balkans-msg (9K) 2/13/96 Balkan history and culture. (Yugoslavia)
East-Eur-msg (21K) 4/23/99 Eastern Europe. Poles, Czechs, Bohemia.
Hungary-msg (42K) 5/ 3/99 Medieval Hungarian history and culture.
Russia-msg (66K) 2/19/99 Russian and Kievian Culture and language.
Rus-women-art (14K) 12/12/95 Lecture notes on 16c. Russian women.

And in the FOOD section:
fd-Poland-msg (9K) 4/19/99 Food of period Poland. Referances.
fd-Russia-msg (25K) 4/16/99 Russian food. Russian cookbooks.

In the INFO-SOURCES section:
Russia-bib (8K) 7/20/94 Bibliography on Russian history.

In the NICOLAA'S ARTICLES section:
CaRussia-art (11K) 7/20/94 11th century Constantinople and Russia.
Russ-law-art (12K) 7/25/94 Law code of the Kievian Rus'.

My Florilegium is at: http://lg_photo.home.texas.net/florilegium/index.html

Hope this helps some.
