Heilsa 'wolf and all other Silo-flex users...!
You query:
>so taping over the plas' is not required ???
Nope...tape not required. The silo-flex is "proof" against rattan
failure.
NOTE THIS: If your rattan suffers a major failure internally using a
silo-flex sword... STOP USING THE SWORD! If you continue using the
weapon it _will fail_ in a catastrophic manner. ie. "Blow Up" "Shred,
splinter, and go to Powder"
>
>how are tips (thrusting and not) usually constructed ???
The tip (point) of a non-thrusting weapon should be rounded slightly.
the rattan needs to be recessed into the Silo-flex about 1/4 inch and
the Silo-flex "curved" inward over the rattan. As well, use of a clamp
or screw to fasten the S-F near the hilt or crossguard is recommended.
Thrusting tips are fabricated in the usual way and held on with
"FIBER-REINFORCED TAPE" ie. Strapping Tape....
Remember to mark your thrusting tips, butt spikes, and striking edges
with a tape of contrasting color BEFORE GULF WAR...!
