Just FYI and off the subject a bit, But, air show performers (aka The
Confederate Air Force and others that do warbird air shows) use tranny fluid
or mineral oil or transformer oil to create the intense smoke to simulate
the shot up engine or pattern they are flying.

Kinda neat, but smelly.
