totally incorrect perception ...  this one never cared for titles, public 
recognition, etc that so many chase after, so no bitterness at all ...  .. 
though i did watch a lot of good people who put their hearts and souls on the 
lines taken out by politics.  learned some good lessons that tempered how i 
appraoched the game since.  

frankly, for a period life changed and the SCA did'nt offer me anything, and 
drifted away from it with my primary SCAdian cynn (when your tribe choose's to 
migrate, you usually migrate with them)  .. life changed since, there are 
aspects that i found i missed (and many that i did not) that called me back.

for me, a simple "thanks" usually suffices ... though usually won't turn down 
dinner and/or drinks (g).  those that know me well, know that i treasure a 
simple "thank you" from the heart over symbols / awards ... and i know that i'm 
not unique in this.
