might also serve to increase interest in participating in the contests ... the 
biggest question i hear again and again is what kinda documentation is 
necessary.  if the documentation were online, would give the artisans a model 
to emulate.
 
or take it one step farther and post copies of the actual standardized 
judgement forms (would be great to see what one was being judged on) ... pre 
announcements of competitions with explanations of the weightings (so one would 
know what one was being judged on)  perhaps bios of the judges (so one could 
know what one was to expect).  granted these are radical proposals, but would 
go a long way to increasing the status of the competitions and would possibly 
decrease the complaints.
