Salut Cozyns

Lyonel aisai.

Master Petruccio says:
>Up in what was the Principality of Artemisia (now the Kingdom
>of Artemesia) they use to hold combined Peer circles quite
>often. Usually during the reigns of Brian and Anna.
>
>Yes, they were huge, and in my opinion rather unwieldy. I
>don't know if they still do them up there or not. Just
>another anthropological difference between Kingdoms :)

I agree, they were unwieldy. They also had a healthy, cross-pollenation
effect. It is noteworthy, I think, that Brion Tarragon was an early
proponent of the single peerage system for the SCA. I wonder how he feels
about that now that he's ruled in the East.

I think an occasional joint peers circle is a good idea, but I don't think
we want to make it SOP for Ansteorra. Year before last at Steppes Twelfth
Night, the Chivalry circle had 36 members. Just imagine the size of a joint
circle in such circumstances.
