Dear Fellow SCA Member and Travel Enthusiast:

This missive is to make you aware of an excellent opportunity to join
fellow SCA members on a tour of Italy this summer. The Gems of Italy: A
Survey of the Medieval & Renaissance Periods, offered by SAFE & Learner
Tours from July 7-20, is the perfect tour for people who are interested in
history and want to see and experience Italy as it was in the Middle Ages
and Renaissance. The itinerary was designed with SCA members in mind and
focuses on the best of Italy's historical sights and locations, including
stays in some hotels that used to be medieval inns.

Touring with a group, especially a group that shares your interest in the
SCA as well as medieval history, makes travelling much more interesting
and enjoyable. If you don't speak Italian (we don't), taking a tour like
this one allows you to focus on the good parts of a trip and avoid the
hassles of reservations, bus and train schedules, and the language
barrier. So if you're looking for something really special to do this
summer, we'd like to invite you to join us on this wonderful trip. (Don't
worry - we'll be back in plenty of time for Pennsic.)

Details of the tour can be found at http://gnv.fdt.net/~safelt.

We've sent this out to several SCA mailing lists, so please accept our
apologies if you get this more than once. If you are interested or have
any questions, please respond via private email to avoid excessive and
unnecessary bandwidth. You can contact us at email address
kuijt at umiacs.umd.edu or you can contact the tour company directly at
safelt at gnv.fdt.net. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Earl Dafydd ap Gwystl & Countess Elizabeth Beaufort
