Yes, but those shiny trinkets or awards are things you can embrace and
treasure for years to come. I don't think many people think when they
receive something form the Crown that is only second handedly coming from
them - unless some crass person told them so.

This is one of the things the Society is built on and it comes from History.
Hey, I'm not knocking pats on the backs as I have done my fair share of them
on the throne and received them. I guess there is no real way to say yes to
one and no to the other - both are at times a thrill for the givers as well
as the receivers.
