ANST - Change in Crown Tourney Date

I guess I'm just an old "stick in the mud."

I just see the move in the Crown Tourney date as an
additional burden on the Summer/Fall Crown.  It adds a
significant number of vacation days used and a good deal of
expense in the CP phase of a reign, when the new CP's need
to be focusing their energy and and conserving their
resources for Their reign.

I do very much agree that it is almost impossible for the
Crown to be all of the places they need to be at Gulf Wars.
However, what will tend to happen is that both the Crown and
the Heirs will need to be at the same activities and both of
them will miss things.  And how will you feel when your
special activity is not significant enough for the Crown to
attend and the Heirs are sent in their stead.

What we really need to do is adjust the reign dates so that
Gulf Wars and Pennsic fall toward the end of  reigns instead
of at the beginning of reigns.  This is why all of the other
kingdoms have heirs at the wars. Duh! True, this will still
have the effect of adding a burden on all reigns, but it
will allow for these events to be planned for as Crown and
not as CP.  The way it is currently, you are an Heir
negotiating with other Kingdom's Crowns as to how things
will be.  I promise you, if this is a first reign, this can
be intimidating and is not a position of strength.
Everything you plan, say, or do can be overruled until your
Coronation, when it can be too late to change things.  It is
much more equal discussing things Crown to Crown.
