They will vary from person to person.

The benefits to *me*, in order, are:

1) TI, good articles
2) Ability to be an officer, to give back to the community that I take
   advantage of
3) BlackStar, just to keep current and to know where to go for events

If I was in a smaller group than Bryn Gwlad, I would also do it for
population count of the local group. After all, only suscribing members
count for group size.
