  We do the same out here in the West, with Gothic Wars. In order to
Autocrat it, you have to do the Co-Autocrat thing the year before. It helps
give a bit of continuity to the event.

    Something we started in Northkeep several years ago has worked very
well.
 Each event must have at least two autocrats, one of whom must be
experienced.  Usually the other autocrat will be someone new.  As I said
before this has worked very well for us.
