> alligator ...

> venison ...
a favorite. used to hunt for it, but now that so much is ranched
locally no longer go through the aggravation and hassels of the
yearly "sniper fest"

> antelope ...
makes great jerky

> bear ...
what does this taste like. a certain balance in eating something
that would eat me given the chance

> boar ... wild boar
most excellent. lot's of "boar" available these days locally thanks
to the explosion of the wild pig populations throughout the hills. a
lot of land owners will pay you to clear them out. boar-spear hunting
anyone (grin)

> buffalo ...
a personal favorite (visions of as thick, rare bison steak ....
sighhh)

> caribou ...
never had it .. have wondered about it.

> cobra ...
pass

> duck, squab, turkey, pheasant, quail, goose, and wild turkey
bird is bird, but all tasty and easy to get locally (lots of game
ranches to the west of us)

> elk ...
*big* favorite ... colorado has elk, colorado allows crossbow
hunting, do the math (g)

> emu ...
always wondered about that one, haven't tried it yet

> frog ...
bet it tastes a lot like ... snake (g)

> turtle ...
no real attraction

> kangaroo ...
have used the leather, never though about it as food. wonder how the
origional settlers dealt with the mega-roo's that were there (now
extinct)

> lamb ..
yummm ... did a leg on the grill for the viscounts new years party,
every scrap of meat was devoured and the bone gnawed clean.

> llama ...
can't see eating them, too useful - wool, pack animals, and sheep
flock guardians (they will flay feral dogs & coyotes with their
hooves)

> ostrich ...
yummm ... marinate steaks in a red wine and garlic mix, & grill.
serve with a good red wine (it's a red meat)

> rabbit ...
neutral, but easy to catch when needed (snares)

> rattlesnake ...
good, easy to find, especially the farther west one goes ....

after all this discussion on meat, for some reason i have this
overpowering urge to track something down, kill it, and feed (g) ...
getting real tired of salads and veggies (end-winter, physical system
overhaul)

'wolf
... dead animal is good food
