Sounds a bit long to me the last I heard it was closer to one mile using a
foot bow, and the shot also has to be sort of down the line, like the punt
pass and kick distance off from the line is subtracted from distance out.
They use flight arrows specal made just for flight shooting so you have to
have a clue where it is going in order to find it.

As to the damage arrow and sling stones do that would be highly veriable.
Know of persons having arm all but blown off and want to go back to help
their buddies and of one who had what appeared to be a "22" through the
biceps (hit nothing but muscle) and was fatal. If the stone broke your leg
you would fall down you may try to get up to fight but the leg would say no
till the brain heard it then you would stay down. On the other hand you
could be hit in a fatal spot liver kidney and keep fighting till you ran out
of blood. Depends on how much adrenaline is in the blood or how much blood
is in the adrenaline. Basically if you are engaged in hand to hand combat if
it dosen't knock you down you will fight till the brain dies from lack of
blood, if it knocks you down you may try to get up only to find out that you
can't stand becouse one leg is broken. Go ask some one that has been in real
combat on a personal basis if they will talk about it. Not me never had that
chance, drats I think, not sure.
