My Lords and Ladies,
    I have just received this for Don OEngus from the Outlands. This is how
the rapier fighting will be conducted at Stakes Plains this year. The time,
place, directions, and all important information can be found on the
Outlands calendar off the SCA site.
For those of you who have gone to this event before, come again. For those
of you who haven't, what's keeping you? Come join us. The only one keeping
you from having fun is you. And there's a lot of fun to be had at Staked
Plains.
Let's show those Outlanders what it's like to face an Ansteorran army.

Rules of Combat for The War of the Staked Plains

Armor:
    Each fighter will conform to own kingdom standards. There will be an
armor inspection at the beginning of the War, and each helm will be marked
with an inspection sticker.

Weapons:
    Swords and daggers will be inspected and marked daily and before
each tourney.

    Tournaments can be fought with epees or schlagers. Both participants
must agree to weapon type. If epees are used, no blade breaking or trapping
quillons or guards.

    No foils are allowed.

All Secondaries must be inspected and approved.

Touch:
    Head, body, and one (1) hand width under the armpit and from the groin
are kills. Arm and Leg are disabling.

Cuts:
    Push cuts and draw cuts are allowed -- tip cuts are allowed with
schlagers if both parties agree. Cuts are to be nine (9) inches. Target area
same as touch.

Missile weapons:
    Rubber Band Guns will be allowed in some scenarios.

    Combat archery is allowed. 35 pound bows with golf tube arrows, 30
pounds with markland arrows.

    Arrows cannot be gleamed from the field and must be inspected by the
marshals before they are returned to the melee.

Scenarios:
    We will fight same scenarios as armored fighters.
