Your Grace,

hello there! - Baroness Mary Elizabeth from the west here - currently in
england visiting parents and catching up in an internet cafe.... eep!

I really agree with you that in all bar exceptional circumstances it
*really* bothers me not to watch my consort fight.. I am currently being
fought for by a very good friend, and he is an incredibly "light weight"
fighter, he really doesn't have any use for being fussed over between
fights in any way, so all I can really do to show my support is be there
to watch him as he fights for me. The only job in the kingdom which I have
found to truely be a problem to resolve was being the herald responsible
for the field heraldry for the lists, when we had 4 or 6 simultaneous
fields being used! - and in retrospect I could even have managed that one
better with the help of a deputy!

I find it interesting that in the west (in particular the principality of
the mists) we have had several winners in the lists whose consorts had not
managed to attend the event at all - I wonder if that might actually be
easier than knowing that your consort is on site, but not watching?

Mary Elizabeth
