Unfortunately the Florilegium lacks pictures as this time
although I hope to add some in the future. The problem is
that most of the pictures I've seen of such items are
from copyrighted books and thus I can't use them.

I do understand your wanting pictures. Unfortunately, most
of my info comes from the Internet mail lists and newsgroups
and those are pretty much text only at this time.

Another item you might consider would be dog armor. While
this appears to mostly have been used on larger dogs
meant for boar hunting and such, it still might work. You
could make chainmail armor out of alluminum wire for instance
that might not be too heavy. You would probably need a surcoat
under it, especially since one of problems with using alluminum
is that it tends to leave gray traces behind.

Chainmail, especially out of alluminum, is not that difficult
to make. If you are spending a lot of time in the car driving
to these various places, this might be a good activity to pass
the time. You can get a lot of details on basic chainmail
making in this file in the COMBAT section of the Florilegium:
chainmail-msg (106K) 4/ 6/00 Making chainmail. Mail armor.
Referances.
merch-chainml-msg (17K) 4/ 6/00 Chainmail merchants and supplies.

If you'd rather buy your rings ready-made, the second file gives
some sources.
