Tenth Annual Midsummer Faire this weekend in Gates Edge.

Midsummer Faire X
June 3, 2000
Once gain the Canton of Gate's Edge will be seeking a new
champion at our Tenth Annual Midsummer Faire. We desire
our champion to be a well-rounded individual and therefore
to be declared Faire Champion the worthy gentle must enter
at least 5 of the following 7 events.
Archery Chivalric List Rapier List
Arts & Sciences Dance Games
Bardic
The Faire Champion must have entered at least 5 events.
However, you may enter as few events as you wish. Prizes
and scrolls will be awarded for each event. Rules will be
explained on site.
There will be children's activities with prizes and scrolls
awarded.
This is a one-day, non-camping event. If you require crash
space, please contact the Autocrat. Merchants welcome --
please contact the Autocrat.
Site fee is $6. Price breaks for larger families and
children will be posted at the troll.
Feast is limited to 75 persons and reservations are
encouraged. Feast fee is $6. For feast reservations or if
you have special food requirements, please contact the
Feastocrat.
This year our feast will transport you into the land of
fairies to dine on exotic dishes which will include:
Mulled Fruit Spiced Beverage Brisket
Painted Bread with Assorted Butters Tomato and Cream Soup
Herb Soup Artichokes Pork Roast
Rhubarb Crisp Magic Mushrooms
Archers please bring your own equipment. No crossbows
please. This year our Archery will be a Royal Round with
6 + 6 Arrows at each of 20, 30, and 40 Yard Ranges. Bow
and arrow inspection will start at 10:00 AM with Practice
until 11:00 AM. Shooting for score will begin at 11:30 AM
and will end at 4:00 PM. If a Tie Breaker is needed it will
be the 40 yard score. Fighters will be allowed to shoot
partial relays between their tournament bouts.
There will also be an Archery Fun Shoot for Word Fame Only.
This will be a String Shoot at 20 yards. The best five of
six arrows will be counted. If needed a tie breaker will
be a 30 yard shoot.
Once gain the site is the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, 12627 West Bellfort Ave., in Southwest Houston
(Sugar Land). Site opens Saturday at 9:00 AM and closes at
10:30 PM, after a sumptuous feast and revel.
Directions: Take your best route to Southwest Houston and
the Beltway 8 and US-59 interchange. Take US-59 South.
>From Beltway 8 exit and stay on US-59 feeder road. Exit
W. Airport. Turn Right. Turn Right on Dairy Ashford. Turn
Left on W. Bellfort. St. Thomas Aquinas Church will be on
your left.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Minors may also attend with a 21 years old or older adult
with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from
the parents.
