Greetings,

Rifling through my husband's metalworking library, I found the following
books that contain useful information and/or great charts on working
(including hardening) steel:

PRACTICAL BLACKSMITHING, by Percy W. Blanford (not the one by
Richardson).
THE COMPLETE MODERN BLACKSMITH, by Alexander G. Weygers
METAL TECHNIQUES FOR CRAFTSMEN, by Oppi Untracht
STEP-BY-STEP KNIFEMAKING, by David Boye
DECORATIVE & SCULPTURAL IRONWORK, by Dona Z. Meilach
EDGE OF THE ANVIL, by Jack Andrews
THE COMPLETE LIBRARY OF METAL WORKING, BLACKSMITHING & SOLDIERING, #378,
by Oscar Almeida
METALLURGY IN ANCIENT RUSSIA, by B.A. Kolchin
THE COMPLETE METALSMITH, by Tim McCreight
DIVERS ARTS, by Theophilus

Also, there are lots of books on metallurgy, knife-making and
blacksmithing that will have good info.
I hope that's helpful.
