ANST - To Those who Fought Rapier at Defender

Unto the right gracious Rapier Combatants of Ansteorra,

I wish to recognize all of you who came to Elfsea's Rapier Tournament and 
offer my thanks, gratitude, and humility.

Thank you, to all of you who attended me at my first rapier tournament at 
Defender.  Many of you realized that my exposure to this aspect of the SCA 
was sorely lacking, and yet, you offered me knowledge graciously and taught 
me gently.

Thank you to Countess Margaret, who prompted combatants to introduce 
themselves to me so that I would become more familiar with those who would 
be my Champion.  I was deeply touched.

Thank you to Don Valentyn, who showed me valour.  Through his actions, I 
learned that your hearts hold as deep a love for the ideals of chivalry and 
courtesy and honor as those who deal with the heavier weapons style.  I must 
admit amazement, for I had a preconceived notion that you were all 
"swashbucklers".  Thank you Valentyn, for your gentle correction.

Also thanks to Don Robert, Don Alden, Don Aeryn the Harper (sorry for 
misspelling), Lady Simone, Dona Antonia, and Don Stephen Hawkins - each of 
you had something to teach me, even if that was not your intention. Getting 
to interact with you has been a wonderful experience.

I look forward to hosting more rapier tournaments at Elfsea Springfaire.
