Greetings one and all from HL Gerald of Leesville, Steward for Stargate's
Yule Revel.

The revel is to be held this weekend, December 8, 2001 at

St. Thomas Aquinas Church
12627 W. Bellfort
Sugar Land, Texas 77478

The site fee is:

$9.00 for 12 and up: $4.50 for children 5 - 12 years old: free for children
under 5
(maximum of $27 per family for site fee)

The feast is $8.00
(Feast list is currently full, but there may be those to whom life happens,
and they may not be able to make it, please contact Lady Vasalisa

waiting list.  Lord Vaclav will do all w/in his power to try to make sure
that all are fed.  FREE CHILDREN'S FEAST TO BE SERVED as well)

The site opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. The site is dry until 6 p.m.,
after which it is wet.

The year is 1499. The place is Portugal.

In September, Captain-General Vasco de Gama returned from his successful
mission to find a trade route to the east.  Tales of his adventures have
reached the courts of Portugal.  His Majesty of Portugal, King Emmanuelle I,
has ordered a Revel to honor the returning hero to be held in the Barony of
the Stargate.  This coincides with the barony's annual contest for the
champion Artisan and Bard, where there will be lavish displays from the
artisans of the land for all to see.  Bards from near and far will perform
within the halls so that all may know of the richness of talent that lies
within the lands of Ansteorra and the barony.

Already Ld. Vaclav Namatko has begun preparations for a feast that will
capture the senses, filling the hall with wonderful scents of foods cooked
with the spices brought back by Captain-General de Gama.

 There will be competitions for best table decorations and best costume.

We will have a station set up for contributions of toys for those in need at
this time of the year.
