Come party with your fellow gentles at the Bryn Gwlad Yule Revel! Come
start off the Holiday Season right!

We plan to have lots of games for young and old and dancing as well as
good food and cheer.

This year's Yule Revel will be held on Saturday, December 8 at the
Maxwell Social Club in Maxwell, TX. Maxwell is located 8 miles west of
Lockhart, about an hour from Austin. The hall will open at 12:00 noon
and we will close the hall for clean-up at 11:00 PM.

The suggested donation at the gate is:
$5 for the older gentles.
$3 for children under 12.
Free for children under five.
And a maximum of $20 per family.

The site is wet.

The Baron and Baroness will be holding Land Court again, where you can
pay those taxes you owe and those who have increased in honors can
select their new acreage.

There will be a "pirate" gift exchange with a gift limit of $10. Contact
Lord Conor Sigmundsson at 719-5963 if you need more details.

For the feast the Barony will be providing Chicken with Orange Sauce,
Roast Beef, and Sausage as well as hot mulled cider and hot water to mix
your own beverages.

The rest of the meal will be pot luck, giving folks a chance to show
off what they can do, without having to cook for hundreds of people.

Those whose SCA last name begins with A, B, C, D, E or F should bring a
vegetable (tarts, pies, etc.).

Those whose SCA last name begins with G, H, I, J, K, L or M should bring
a meat dish (roasts, tarts, pies, etc.) of some sort.

Those whose last name begins with N, O, P, Q, R or S should bring a
dessert.

And those whose last name begins with T, U, V, W, X, Y or Z should bring
a bread of some sort (white, wheat, rye, etc.) and butter.

The use of period recipes is encouraged.

We are going to have two contests.
1) Best Authentic pre-1600 recipe.
2) Best Authentic Period sauce.

There will be prizes for each of these, to be decided by popular vote.
To be elegible for this, you must label your dish and show a copy of the
recipe.

We will be trying a different way to serve the pot luck foods this year.
Rather than a long wait in line to get to a single set of serving
tables, most of the hall will be seated on only one side of their
tables. You will place the foods that you brought on the empty side of
your table. At 5:30, when feast starts everyone will start at their
table and proceed in a clockwise direction around the hall. Hopefully
most folks will finish filling their plates at about the same time and
we can all sit down to the feast together.
