Greetings all, 

  Just wanted to let everyone know that a very fine
woman, good friend to all that know her and One
Awesome Cook, is in the hospital once again.  I copied
the following missive I recieved and pasted it here. 
It is from HE Master Lucais;
  Because she is unable to care for herself, she was
hospitalized Friday.
She's getting nutrition to build up her strength, and
steroids to reduce the
swelling in her brain.  This should help return her
mental functioning.
However, she'll be there long enough for some bed
sores to clear up.  She
also has fluid building in her lungs and has a lot of
coughing.  I doubt
she'll be going home very soon as the doctor is
thinking assisted living, or
even hospice, when she may be able to leave the
hospital.  We should have
some x-ray and CT scan results by Monday or so.  Big
meeting with the social
worker is scheduled for tomorrow.

I talked with her today and she was able to talk in
sentences, although some
of them didn't make much sense.

  I don't want to seem unnecessarily bleak, or sound
like gloom and doom, but
did want you all to know we are in a very serious
phase.

She is in Baptist/Integris Hospital, Room 743
(Oncology).  I would
discourage phone calls.  She's too weak to find the
phone and can't really
talk very much.  If you'd like to send a card, you can
send it to me at the
address below and I'll deliver it.  I see her
everyday.  Her mundane name is
Maureen Stephens.

Please keep her in your thoughts.
