If my history serves me correct (if not I can call my
my mom and she will be more than happy to correct me),
"Cabeza de Vaca" was not a name, but a title.

there is a differant pronunciation all together, the
"cedilla" (c with the little thingy under it) is
pronounced as a "z".  I do not believe that the letter
is used any longer.
