Greetings from your Kingdom Warlord.
So you want to be a part of the Ansteorran Army and would like to feel the
thrill of battle but feel becuase of an injury or somesuch you can't. Well
have I got a deal for you! I'm looking for Ansteorranns who would like to be
scouts (scouts will be used as well....scouts but also for passing
infromation on the Battlefield) at Pennsic (short term) and later at Gulf.
I've copied the Pennisc rules here so everyone can take a look at them.

Also for those combat archers who would like to come try out those "approved"
designs for your arrows that are floating around there are several battles
where you can do your thing and see how they work out in preperation for our
war in the gulf. Your all welcome to fight with our forces and we can use
you to takeout those pesky enemy commanders and spearmen who like to hang out
in no man's land on the Bridge Battle.

Siege weapons are welcome in several of the Battles also. If you feel like
carting the thing out there, There are battle's you can use it in. Like say
direct fire from the corners of the bridge in support of the army.

Water bearers are also a big part of the fight! Nothing is better in the
woods (or any other battle for that matter) then seeing a friendly face with
some water as you come back to resurrect.

Thanks.

Pennsic Scout Rules:
Scouts:
All fighters and scouts who wish to participate in the battles at Pennsic 30
must have authorized by July 31, 2001. Fighters and scouts must have their
authorization cards with them at Pennsic. NO CARD, NO FIGHTING OR SCOUTING.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!

All scouts are required to wear a helmet. A scout helm must be constructed in
accordance with the rules of the scout's home kingdom and in such a way as to
survive on heavy blow from a rattan weapon. Scout helms will be marked by a
solid white diamond pattern and by tape denoting the side they are
representing.
Scouts are highly encouraged to wear elbow and knee pads, groin, throat and
kidney protection. These items will be required in battles with combat
archery and thrown weapons.

Scouts will be allowed in all battles. A scout cannot be in possession of a
designated war point banner nor may a scout touch or move a designated war
point banner. No scout may carry weapons or shields. No scout may carry a
combat bow or crossbow for any reason during a battle. No scout will
intentionally put himself in a position where he may be struck by an opposing
fighter (except combat archery).

Scouts are "killed" by an opposing fighter getting within 10 feet of them
unopposed and declaring them "dead". Unopposed means that no fighter friendly
to the scout is between the opposing fighter and the scout or within weapons
range of the scout. Under NO circumstances will a scout be touched with a
weapon.

Scouts should make every effort to avoid situations that may cause harm.
Blatant disregard of this rule may be cause for removal.
