Hi. Just me buttin' in again. >:]

I can't help but notice the irony that you are promoting public discussion
on this considering one of your statements. Let's see, where'd it go . . .

> For those of other beliefs, your sig line is unsettling, as most people

> others in the SCA.

IMHO, people who are truly at peace with their beliefs and secure in their
faiths are not at all threatened by such statements. As an example, I am not
threatened by Christian jokes, and find many of them hilarious. One of my
favorite sayings is "Christianity would be a fine religion, if it wasn't for
all those darned Christians!"

As for the nature of the sig line, the only threat I can see is that someone
may fear a thorough "tongue-lashing" at some point. And for propriety's
sake, we won't discuss how many might or might not enjoy it.

Hmmmm, what's next . . . ah, here it is.

Flavor? Oooo, that's just bad.

Besides, wouldn't it be a more accurate comparison to say "Get a taste of
religion -- lick a priest?"

Has it occurred to anyone that defending those who could be offended might
actually offend some others who might not otherwise be offended? Just as my
defense of their own right of self-defense may be found offensive? And did
anyone but me get a headache after reading these two sentences? Hmmm . . .

Corporate policy guarantees the right of every religion to exist unmolested
within the SCA, so long as it's practitioners do not infringe upon the
rights of other faithholders. Forgive my ignorance, but I do not believe
that this means "don't talk, don't ask, don't tell."

I must ask myself, "If my friend is so very sensitive, should I really be
friends with him/her? Is that friendship worth the risk and trouble?"
Personally, I say no. I have enough of my own weakness. I don't need to take
on others' weaknesses too. And heightened social ultra-sensitivity is most
definitely a weakness. It protects nothing and damages much more.

But then again, a good tongue lashing . . . never mind. I shouldn't get too
vulgar on the List. >:]

That's all I have to say for now. Thanks for posting so reasonably, Xene. I
know I poked fun in some places, but that's just my way of keeping things
sweet and civil. Call it a weakness. hehehe.
