Personally,  I liked it.  I thought it funny and entertaining.  Even if it
was hard to read sometimes.   That was the way they spelled in those days.

quite interesting ... my spelling used to be textbook, up until point i took
a couple semesters of old english literature.  it went right out the window
and never came back (g)
