Well, since someone else opened up this particular can o'worms...here is
tuppence, Alden-style.

I don't particularly have any problems with the *original* sig line. It was
amusing, and had a gentle, underlying message in it (i.e. that, for all it's
youth, neo-paganism is regarded by many to be every bit as sacred to its'
members as Catholicism is by *it's* practitioners...or Jews, or Muslims, or
Mormons, or Scientologists.)
However, when someone decided to put the addendum "(stop complaining about
this LOL)" on it, it made the whole thing look foolish, immature and
petulant. While the original sig line did not strike me as inflammatory or
annoying, the "improved" one absolutely did. Wake up and smell the coffee:
you *cannot* tell people to what to think, and you *absolutely* cannot order
them to stop doing something when you have no authority. All that will do is
annoy and insult them (particularly when you're doing it in their own
homes....which is where most people read their E-mail.) The original line
was doing a fine job...it's younger brother fails miserably.

In Service, I remain
