When it rains, it pours. Unrelated to the sweeping changes, which are being promoted by the BOD, there will be several
event specific armor and marshalling revisions at Gulf Wars next year. Though most items are still being hashed out,
there is one requirement, which looks like it will definitely be there next year.

In the ravine battle, there were a series of holds for various injuries. One of the most wide spread complaints was the
number of excessively hard cup shots. However, after numerous interviews of spearmen on both sides it appears that the
power levels were in the normal range. Further investigation revealed that while standing on the steeply sloped ravine
sides, the standard cup supporter allows this important piece of armor to become shifted to one side. This condition can
happen without the wearer noticing and causes their reproductive organs to be at extreme risk of being struck painfully
or even damaged. To alleviate this risk, the Meridian marshallate will now require a three point suspension for the
bottom of all athletic cup supporters. This will require modifying the standard male cup supporter with a third elastic
strap running snugly from the bottom of the cup area to the center back of the waistband. The marshals will verify that
this modification has been made by a single sharp tug to the back waistband of the athletic cup supporter. This
modification will only be required next year for the ravine battle, but it is planned to expand this to all battles in
following years.

 Duke Jean Richard Malcolmson, KSCA
