Not only do our cantons and college help us with our events, many times
other cantons located close to our Barony help out as well. But occasionally,
these cantons want to hold an event of their own, and we support them and
help them in return. It isn't all bad. Why do we have more groups? Because we
have more people. My first two years of playing I could attend an event
almost every week-end without having to travel too far. This is a good thing
for new people who aren't yet ready to commit to traveling a lot. Now that I
want to travel more, I have choices. Our Barony has learned from experience
that we can do too much ourselves and people burn out and loose interest. So
we took a year off from doing anything other than our scheduled events. That
left us time to play at other groups events without having to do all the
work. Our populace is already showing new interest and renewed energy.
Sometimes people just get tired and with all the other things going on, they
can take a break without feeling like they must stop playing for a time.
