[Ansteorra] time for a different topic

I agree, Chivalry is a good topic. In fact I am trying to put together a few
pages devoted solely to the study of it. Any information gathering place
would be helpful. Also, I have found a few things which have given me insight
into this ethereal thing we call chivalry. One of them being Humility. Last
week a Knight of Ansteorra spoke to myself and a friend, and said "I know I
have a ways to go, and I will need help from you guys to do it." The ability
to display that humility spoke volumes about who this man has become. Here we
have a knight, something that most fighters aspire to be, and he has asked for
help. I think that we can all take a lesson in humility. By the way, neither
of us is squired to that Knight, we were just three guys talking.

Maybe we should each look at our individual definition of chivalry, and see if
we can discover how closely it matches the definition of chivalry that our
great kingdom was founded on. A great source of information on where we were
in chivalry would be our Dukes. I used to think myself a fairly chivalrous
person, until i ran up against a Duke, and discovered that all i do is play in
the shadows of real chivalry. Once you get a taste of it, you find yourself
questing and thirsting for more knowledge about this thing. Our Dukes guard
what was once the very definition of chivalry in Ansteorra, and if asked, i am
sure that these members of the old guard (for lack of a better term) will be
more than happy to discuss the matter. I know this from experience.

Take whatever i say with a grain of salt, but if we want to know about
chivalry 22 years ago when the kingdom was young, and do what we can to figure
out where we are going wrong, all we need to do is ask a member of the old
guard, and then be accepting of what they tell us about it.
