[Ansteorra] Gophers in the Garden

Too bad she's not still around as we have one taking up residence in our
basement. Oh the joys of living where you have deep basements again. This is
the second one since I moved up here. Not something I'd put in a tourist
brochure.

I have 5 cats but they aren't allowed in the basement, cause rabies is
fairly common up here also (something else not in the brochures).

We had a Siamese cat (old style, apple head) in the 1960s
Caught, killed & presented the prey on a regular basis.
She was quite insistent that her efforts be acknowledged,
and she was regually praised for doing in local gophers.

Varmint dawgs.  That's why so many of the terrier breeds exist.  Even my
barn cats will occasionally catch and kills gophers and moles.

  Does anyone know anything about period methods of getting rid of Gophers
in your garden?
  I don't actually have gophers in my garden, I don't actually have a
garden, I'm just trying to see if it is possable to come up with a subject
that Stefan doesn't have an article for in his florilegium.
   Someday when I get a spare month I want to read the whole thing.
