[Ansteorra] Too many events?

This goes back to the earliest days of the Kingdom. To my knowledge we
have never actually required a group to hold 1 or 2 events per year. The
sections of Corpora that Her Excellency quoted are probably the source for
the misunderstanding on the issue. We have strongly encouraged groups to
hold at least one event per year to prove they existed and are healthy. In
the beginning of the Kingdom we also were also hoping to actually fill the
calender. Over the years the number of groups and events have grown to the
point that we have begun to restrict the number of events a group can have
on the calender. I have to agree with Jean Paul and Countess Rebekah that
the overall quality of our events has suffered because there are so
many. I remember the Tourney of the Cloth of Gold, Lions, Dream Tourney,
Tourney of Chivalry, and many others in the earlier days of the Kingdom
that followed no set pattern but broke new ground. While we have a few
groups that are trying to be innovative (like Brad Leah's Conquest next
weekend) most events come right out of the box. I would vote to have
fewer but better more innovative events.
